INTERMAXILLAIR SPRINGS (FORSUS)

Intermaxillair springs are used when rubber elastics cannot correct properly. Intermaxillair springs do not promote jaw growth and should not be confused with Herbst braces.

They ensure that the molars in the upper jaw are set back and that the teeth in the lower jaw are placed well forward to achieve a healthy and stable bite.

The springs are attached to the bands in the upper jaw and run to the wire in the lower jaw and works for 24 hours a day.

The springs may seem a bit large in the picture, but this practically never gives any problems or objections.

They usually last for 3 to 6 months.
