Wachtkamer van de orthodontist in Utrecht: Airportho Utrecht

COST

The costs for the braces treatment are charged step by step. The rates for braces treatments in the Netherlands are set by the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa). Airportho Utrecht works together with Infomedics, which initially tries to declare directly to your health care provider, so that you usually only receive an invoice from Infomedics for the amount of the non-reimbursed part of the treatment performed. You do not have to advance any invoices.

Pay attention! No reimbursement from the basic package!

Barring very exceptional cases, orthodontic treatment is not reimbursed from the basic health insurance (not even for patients under 18 years of age).

Additional dental insurance is required for children in the name of one of the parents / carers. Insurers reimburse a certain part of the costs of the orthodontic treatment (range: 50 – 100%) and usually attach a maximum to the total reimbursement to be paid by them (range: € 500 – € 2,500). It is wise to find out before you come to us for the first visit. Click below to view the reimbursements per health insurer via zorgverzekeringwijzer.nl (divided into up to and from 18 years).

The costs for the braces treatment are charged in stages. The rates for braces treatments in the Netherlands are set by the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa). You do not have to advance any invoices. As mentioned above, it sometimes happens that, on the basis of the diagnosis, there is a right to reimbursement of the orthodontic treatment from the basic health insurance. In that case, we will request permission from the insurer for such reimbursement. This means that there is no personal contribution to the braces treatment for (the parent / caregiver of) the patient and the reimbursement of the orthodontic treatment from the insurer is higher than average, since these are often difficult and time-intensive treatments.

There should actually be no differences in the allocation of this reimbursement between different insurers, but unfortunately our experience is that the insurers belonging to the CZ group (CZ, OHRA and Delta Lloyd) and Menzis apply much more extensive criteria before they apply such a in an exceptional situation, pay compensation than all other insurers. The latter therefore explicitly only applies to reimbursement from the basic health insurance.

Not showing up for appointments, not brushing well enough and / or frequently loosening clasps can lead to extra treatment time and costs.

You can use the payment reference on the website www.infomedics.nl to pay bills, postpone or request a payment arrangement. You can also chat via that website or send an email if you have any questions. The telephone number of Infomedics is: 036-2031900.

In case of long-term payment arrears, the option to have invoices submitted directly to your insurer will lapse. In this case, we must ask you to make the following appointment in advance via a link on our website (Ideal). Communication about this will take place via e-mail. This was chosen to avoid the risk of unsatisfied invoices, cash payments and children who are confronted with payment problems from their parents / carers. After you have paid the invoice for the next treatment, you will be called for an appointment. The patient will then receive an invoice stating that it has been paid. This can be submitted to the insurer. Until your payment arrears with Infomedics have been resolved, this will be repeated monthly. Please try to prevent this.
